Wine
Just in the best years, we produce The Riserva from the oldest vineyard “Le Macchiarelle”. The structure, character and complexity of this Riserva are the result of a unique combination of soil, exposure and age of the vineyard.
The result of Fanti’s commitment to excellence: a premium quality Brunello from a mosaic of uniquely gifted plots in the Vallocchio area. Exclusively produced in excellent vintages.
This wine is the essence of the Fanti Winery. Its complexity and elegance are the result of the different performances of the Sangiovese in the diverse scenario of Castelnuovo dell'Abate.
A juicy, fresh and elegant Sangiovese is the result of a very careful selection of the grapes in the vineyards. A great Italian red wine ready to drink, but also meant for aging.
The abbey of Saint Antimo is the landmark and the symbol of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, Fanti's hometown for many generations. This wine is produced with Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from our property.
The name “Poggio Torto” (“leaning hill”) comes from the hill that is in front of the winery. It is a supple, full bodied and well balanced blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
This rosè wine is 100% Sangiovese, obtained thanks to an early harvest of the grapes from one of the cooler areas of the property. This rosè is fragrant, delicate and fresh.
This blend of traditional local grapes such as Trebbiano and Malvasia with Vermentino and Viogner of young vineyards was born as a tribute to our beloved aunt Lisina.
According to the Tuscan tradition, Fanti has always produced the Vin Santo following the family’s centuries old recipe: over three months of drying of the grapes and six years of aging in caratelli. In this way, from a single berry, you can get only a drop of Vin Santo.
Olive Oil
The Moraiolo variety prefers hilly areas with loose and not very fertile land, the same that characterizes the olive groves owned in the area of Castelnuovo dell'Abate. This monocultivar is renowned for aromatic intensity and spiciness.
This is the typical Tuscan olive oil: it is characterized by low acidity and complex flavor profile. With the natural maturation, the oil softens the taste and becomes bright yellow in color. It is suitable for fish dishes.
This “monocultivar” olive oil comes from centuries old olive trees of “Olivastra Seggianese”. The fineness, the low acidity and the low fat content of this olive oil make it one of the most prestigious in the world.
A drop of chilli oil and the identity of the dish will be enhanced, thanks to its intense and engaging flavor.
Grappa
From the skins of Brunello we obtain Grappa with an intense and penetrating aroma, with a rich bouquet of aromatic notes and a notable persistence.
This Grappa is obtained from the pomace of Sangiovese from Brunello Riserva and is aged for 18 month in oak barrels. It is characterized by a soft and enveloping taste, with hints of vanilla and toasted notes.
